Krause in District 99

02.20.10 - Reading recently of local candidate filings, especially in Haltom City, I see I can't run again because of term limits. Reminds me of spearheading that effort as mayor of Haltom City. I'm still in favor of that. We need it in Austin and Washington.

The Gerens, like the Kennedys, are hard to beat -- Democrat or Republican. Why? Name recognition, but mainly dollars. For once the voters need to limit some incumbents rather than wait for a constitutional change.

Voters in Texas House District 99 have a chance to do that. Limit Charlie Geren's term. You did former state Sen. Kim Brimer's.

Matt Krause is a young newcomer to the game. Give him a chance. Vote for a change, and I don't mean the one coming out of Washington.

Vote early or late, but vote Matt Krause for state representative in District 99.

-- Jack O. Lewis, Haltom City. Read more.
