But for our forbearers, fortune did not come easy. With their own hands, hard work, dedication, and sheer determination, they found success. Taming the land, constructing industry, and through innovation, they created jobs and ever-greater opportunity. In making Texas home, they designed a government that would allow Texas to continue to flourish for their children and generations to come. It was a government designed to allow the best the future had to offer, and that government left what is God’s to God, what is man’s to man, and what is the state’s to the state.
Unfortunately, politicians in Austin have begun to forget—or ignore—the wisdom, values, and foresight of our predecessors. Recently, Austin politicians have voted to make government bigger and more intrusive, legislated false virtues, and reduced liberties that were once guaranteed.
Matt Krause is running for the Texas House of Representatives to bring the Texas Capitol back to the people. Our Republican Representation should reflect the beliefs of red-blooded Texans—personal responsibility, individual initiative, and conservative values. And our Republican Representation should always fight to protect our God-given liberties.

Matt Krause – Protecting Our Pocketbooks and Strengthening Our Economy
Matt Krause knows that higher taxes lead to fewer jobs, which is why he is committed to reducing taxes and increasing government efficiency. Tarrant County Texans work for the sake of their families, not for the sake of the government. We can trust that Matt will be our voice for prudent spending—a bold advocate for hard-working families—not another reckless politician in the pocket of government bureaucrats or Austin lobbyists. When homeowners receive a raise, government should not be entitled to a share.
Times are tough, but Matt knows that rebuilding our economy begins right here at home, by creating Texas jobs in Tarrant County. We must continue to cut job-killing government regulation and red tape, to invest in education and transportation infrastructure for long-term growth, and to ensure that Texas remains the first choice for the true job creators—private sector entrepreneurs. Recent tax increases on small businesses, including the franchise tax, lead to fewer jobs, and must be repealed. With fundamental government reform, Texas can attract well-paying jobs and return hard-earned tax dollars to taxpayers.

As a husband and father, Matt Krause believes that when it comes to educating our children, local parents and teachers know what is best, which is why Matt is committed to fighting state mandates and empowering local parents and teachers. By allowing parents and teachers to work together, every child will have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Moreover, Matt believes in schools with high standards and accountability so our children succeed in life. And increasing discipline in our schools will let teachers teach and students learn.
Our children’s success in the modern economy requires that they have access to the latest technology, up-to-date textbooks, and a robust reading, math, and science education. Billions of Texas’ dollars are spent every year on education, and Matt will ensure that preparing our children for the 21st Century economy is the top priority. Improving education means more than just increasing government spending, and schools must direct their resources to improving outcomes in the classroom.
Unfortunately, politicians and special interests in Austin have taken to playing games with our children’s future. Like you, Matt knows that this is unacceptable and will fight to restore power to the State Board of Education, to allow performance pay for teachers, to let every parent decide how and where is best for their child to reach their full potential, and to increase the transparency and accountability of school district funding and expenditures. Back room deals and political maneuvers should never jeopardize our children’s future success.
